A very unusual and stately hand hammered chalice circa 1940-1950 with Crown of Thorns. The chalice stands 8" tall with gleaming gold plate. The fitted deep dish paten is 5 1/4" wide and has a memorial engraving on the back side. The inside of the chalices cup is a bit faded due to hundreds of services. The unusual node of the chalice is of a shiny black material surmounted with the Crown of Thorns in silver. The chalice is nicely weighted and a very nice quality piece.
