An original copperplate engraving on wove paper after English artist John Webber (1751-1793) titled "Representation of a Human Sacrifice in a Morai at Otaheite in the presence of Captain Cook and his Officers", 1817. Engraved by English artist James Heath (1757-1834). Comes from the Octavo edition of "A Voyage to the Pacific Ocean" 1776-1780, recording the Third Voyage of Captain Cook. Published by Evans & Bourne in London, the UK for the "Cooke’s Geography", portfolio in 1817. Matted with mats from Holland, all archival and shrink-wrapped. Matted size: 13" x 15".
