An original signed mezzotint engraving by English artist Sydney E. Wilson (1869-?) titled "Lady De La Pole", 1924 after a painting by English artist George Romney (1734-1802). Hand pencil signed lower right. Limited edition: 425. In no other state, the plate was destroyed. Printed at the top center margin: ‘Copyright Published January 1st, 1924 by Vicars Brothers, 12 Old Bond St. London.’ ‘MSNG’ blindstamp/chopmark lower left. Sheet size: 28.25" x 19.75". Image size: 20" x 12.5". This large engraving is laid down on a thin board. General toning and wear associated with age to outer margin of sheet. The image/plate itself is in very good condition. In overall good condition. (Please see pictures).Sydney E. Wilson (1869-?) was a British engraver working in London in the late 19th century, known for his accurate engravings based on oils by Morland, Gainsborough, and other celebrated British painters of the 18th and 19th century.
